The Eyes of Tammy Faye
In the conflict between spirituality and money, it's a knockout win for materialism in Showalter's brilliantly over-the-top true story of the disgraced religious broadcaster and her criminal husband. Garfield acts as the corrupt Bakker, who declares early on, claiming divine approval for wealth. He and Tammy Faye commence profiting from the nation's spiritual convictions. It's a spectacle of bad interior design, overdone appearance and insincerity, however Jessica Chastain manages to present Tammy Faye in a likable light. Tuesday 14 October, 1.15am, the Film4 channel
