AC Shadows Reveals Bizarre AoT Collaboration for Holiday Season
In a unexpected collaboration that breaks conventional predictions, the game developer has announced an virtual partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, including free extra story content for Shadows players.
Strange Mission Revealed
According to the formal statement, "An unusual encounter leads protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh adventure, where hints of banned ceremonies and fearsome metamorphoses resonate through the shadows." The storyline presents a "oddly attired woman named Ada" who charges the pair with traveling into the Crystalline Cavern—a important location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her ally from a clandestine group.
The questline centers on "strange tests and a fearsome adversary" and is available to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Iconic Places and Metamorphoses
The preview highlights the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This important location was formerly where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The preview finishes with a dramatic scene showing a character, presumably the prisoner, morphing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Items and Additional Features
Players who finish the quest will obtain an special katana in addition to multiple artifacts hidden throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also features in-store Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-themed outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Exclusive weapons
- Survey Corps vehicle
Third Free Story Addition
This update also adds the game's third complimentary story content, titled "A Puzzlement."
